By the Good Book
It all started during the Christmas season of 2016, when a brother decided to order 38 copies of a gem-filled book that he stumbled upon for his friends. He and a few of those friends got together, and met two times every month to discuss and reflect upon the lessons from the book. The title of the book? 'Doing Business by the Good Book' by David Steward, another brother, who is Founder and Chairman of World Wide Technologies, a very successful tech company.
By Spring of 2019, the book club had attracted some sisters as well, making the conversations richer and more robust. And by summer of the same year, we finally made it through our first book. We then officially named the club 'By the Good Book' to reflect the rich influence of the holy scriptures and time tested Christian principles on the wisdom that we glean from the books we choose. We are currently reading two books titled, 'The Richest Man Who Ever Lived' by Steven K. Scott, and 'A Testament of Hope: The Essential Writings And Speeches of MLK', edited by James M. Washington.
With time, the book club has grown into a more serious and mature organization, allowing us to take our interests to new levels. When you decide to join us, you too will gain access to various events and, more importantly, to a community of people who prioritize personal, economic and spiritual growth, and are just as passionate as you are.
